Frequently Asked Questions

This section provides answers to some of the questions we are asked mainly frequently. Below are some of the most asked questions about our driver’s training programs. Please feel free to contact the United Driver’s Training by calling (905) 897-7662.

Q1: How does Graduated Licensing systemworks?

Ans: A new driver’s applying for the “G” class of licenses will be issued a” G1″ license once he or she has successfully completed the vision and knowledge test. Applicant must wait for a year, unless he or she has completed a Ministry approved Beginner’s Driver’s Education program, before he or she is eligible to attempt for a “G2″ road test. Upon successful completion of a G2 road test, applicant will be issued a” G2″ license. Applicant must wait for a year before he or she is eligible to attempt for a “G” road test. Upon successful completion of a “G” road test, applicant will be issued the full “G” licence. This “G” License is for 5 years.

Q2: What does the BDEC consist of?

Ans: At United Driver’s Training, BDEC consists of 20 hours of in-class instruction, 10 hours in-car training and 10 hours home-link(workbook will be provided).

Q3: What does the course start?

Ans: We provide different courses like BDEC and “Z” endorsement, and every weekend we begin new course.

Q4: Do I have to finish my classes before I can start my in-car training?

Ans: You have the option of completing your classes and in-car lessons side-by-side or you may begin your in-car lessons after completing the classes. Choice is yours.

Q5: When can I schedule my in-car lessons?

Ans: In-car lessons are offered seven days a week and may be booked in the morning, afternoon or evening.

Q6: How do I pre-register?

Ans: You may pre-register by email or over the phone with the first installment of $150.00 using any major credit card. Please call 905-897-7662 and a representative happy to register and reserve a spot for you.

Q7: How early can I go for my MTO road test?

Q8: How long does it take to complete the program?

Ans: The average student takes between 3 to 4 weeks to complete the entire program. However, if you would like to finish quicker, you may do so by taking 90 minute in-car sessions instead of 60 minutes. This way you may finish between 2 to 3 weeks.

Q9: Can I start the course without the G1?

Ans: You may start the program’s class sessions without your G1, but you must have it before you begin your in-car lessons.

Q10: How long do I have to finish the program?

Ans: You must complete the entire program (classes and in-car training) within one year.

Q11: How long will it take before I get my certificate?

Ans: The certificates are processed on-line with in a minimum of 24 business hours once you have successfully completed a BDE course.

Q12: Do I receive Proof of Course Completion?

Ans: Students wanting proof of driving school completion for possible insurance discounts need to validate their certification online from MTO at their local driver licensing center. After completing a driver license history (DHL), the student will receive their official certificate. The cost to apply for the DHL is $12.00. United Driver’s Training provides a free form for the student to fill out instead, and mail to the MTO with a cheque for their convenience.

Q13: Do I receive a certificate for every driver training program?

Ans: No. You will only be certified for the individual course (s) completed.
